Tone/ Mood.
In To An Athlete Dying young, the tone and mood start out very happy and joyous. It goes from bringing the boy home a hero to bringing him home a dead body. In line 3-4 their is a tonal shift. The tone becomes very serious and a bit melancholy. The literal definition for tone is the way something sounds.
Diction
Diction is a style of speaking or writing based on the choice of words. Based on even accent and inflection, an author can change the style of their diction completely. In poetry, different words can have different meanings. Whether it is the exact definition or an illusion/reference to something else, words can always be interpreted differently. In To An Athlete Dying Young, the author uses lots of dark words like fade, death, and swell and also uses a lot of rough sounds.
Imagery
Imagery is what allows a reader to visualize for his/her self what authors see while writing their poems. The better the imagery in a poem, the better a reader can see what is going on in the poem. In To A Dying Athlete, lines like "we chaired you through the market place" and "Eyes the shady night has shut" allowed me to truly get the feeling of the poem.
Poetic sounds
Sounds in poetry are a key area when a poem is being analyzed. The sounds show the reader the tone and mood of the poem. Also, things like rhyme scheme and meter are very important when thinking of sounds in poetry. The way certain words are emphasized and the speed of the lines are read help get accross what kind of feeling the poem is supposed to have.

Symbol/Theme
Symbol and theme play a very important role in literature. In works such as To a Dying Athlete and Ullyseus, the theme and symbol are key. Both works feature time as their theme. One cherishing it and the other thinking it unnecessary. Their symbols are death and glory. Both of them believe that glory must be achieved in life, but one thinks that one must die young in order to do so. A theme is a an implicit or recurrent idea or motif. A symbol can be an object, relationship, or event. It metaphorically represents something much bigger than itself.

Setting
In literature, setting includes time, place, and period. Essentially everything that sets a moods for the story. Setting is a fundamental part of a story such as Hamlet. The obvious setting would be medieval denmark, but the important setting is the dark and dingy castle that the play takes place in. The dark setting helps illustrate the depressing and chaotic issues at hand. Everything fits together. The setting makes the play. Without it it would not be the same.

PLOT
The similarities regarding plot in "Pride and Prejudice" and "Hamlet" are that they both revolve around nerve racking situations and chaotic disaster. However similar they're plots may be, they're climax's are at completely different times. Hamlet's is at the end when everyone dies and justice is delivered, and Pride's climax is in the middle of the novel when Mrs. Bennet's children are running amok.

Hamlet essay review
After reading the comments on my essay, I believe a more thorough conclusion would have landed me a much higher grade mark. I neglected to unite my two body paragraphs in my conclusion.
INtro paragraph
Both the reality and the wish of dying young are exhibited in Athlete dying young and Ulyssess. While Housman utilizes a more formal tone to illustrate the fate of a boy who died before his great name faded, Lord Tennyson uses a more rustic and natural tone to tell the tale of an old yet accomplished man who wishes he had died while still in his prime.

Ozymandias Vs. Ponder
Both Ozymandias and Ponder have the theme of time in them. It's presence seems to be much stronger in Ozymandias then it is in Ponder. Ozymandias' whole point is that time can trump and defeat even the most powerful people and that time is completely still and stuck. Ponder on the other hand, refers to time in a much nicer way. He wants to take advantage of all the time he has. He doesn't take time for granted and feels as though every moment is precious.
Performance choice
Tony, Nick, and I performed the scene were Horatio, Bernardo, and Marcellus first encounter the ghost. We chose this part because it exhibits 2 different tonal changes and three different characters. Bernardo goes from self doubt to and "I told you so" tone. Marcellus goes from doubting that the goes exists to extremely surprised and frightened. I chose to have a very urgent and scared tone when i spoke.

Questions for Discussion
The basis for laertes objection is that he doesn't believe hamlet actually loves her or will necesarilly marry her because of his obligations as prince. The basis for Polonius' objection is that he doesn't want his sister to lose her virginity for no reason. Laertes argument is much more persuasive because he is not a hypocrit like Polonius. Both Laertes and Polonius treat her condesendingly.

Self-Imprisonment: Hamlet's Iron Words
In William Shakespeare's Hamlet, the story of a confused son's revenge is told through both plot and speech pattern. Young Hamlet, the son of former King Hamlet of Denmark, lives a perplexing lifestyle in which he juggles his ever-changing emotions with the death of his father and the marriage of his mother and uncle. Being the slightly awkward man he is, Hamlet is not very friendly with his family, and is left with his words as his comrades. Hamlet's uses his words as his sword and shield: to express himself in his soliloques and to mask his true thoughts around people. However empowering Hamlet's words might be to him, they also trap him. Being so intelligent, Hamlet over thinks every aspect of his life (like revenge) and constantly confuses himself. Therefore, although Hamlet's words are his sanctuary, they are also his prison because they depress him, cause him to be indecisive, and delay his revenge.

Mini Essay on D.W. Harding.
In "Regulated Hatred" D.W. Harding writes on author Jane Austen and her satirical technique in Pride and Prejudice. In his first point, Harding claims that her work has "non of the underlying didactic intention ordinarily attributed to the satirist". In other words, her book technically lacks the defining characteristics of satire. On this point I would have to disagree with Harding. I believe that Pride and Prejudice is a satirical masterpiece. It makes people laugh at representations of themselves without even knowing it. Furthermore, Harding also claims that Austen over exaggerates every character in her book in order to make all her readers and herself laugh at them. Austen represents people she hates as characters in her book. If she had not exaggerated them, she would not have been able to amuse herself.

To His Coy Mistress
My vegetable love should grow / faster than empires, and more slow. Andrew Marvell uses the word vegetable in this line this line to slow the pace. When correctly pronounced, it should sound veg-eh-tah-bul. This is one of the many poetic devices that marvell uses in his poem To His Coy Mistress.

Comments on Brian And JOhnny
I agree with both Johnny and Brian on their comments. Johnny makes a good point that collins is comic relief because he never stops trying to propose to Elizabeth even though she keeps rejecting him. Johnny goes on to say how Collins acts like he rejected Elizabeth after she rejected him. Johnny, Brian, and I all agree that in those days Mr. Collins would truly be a nightmare and a half, but from our perspective he truly is hilarious.
D.W. Harding. Collins Nightmare or Comedian??
In his essay, D.W. harding claims that Collins is both a comic and a realistic nightmare. He says, "From some points of view (he is a) caricature, in other directions e does, by easy stages, fit into the real world". Harding claims that he is a nightmare because of how he affects elizabeth. He makes her life miserable through her mother. When she refuses to marry him her mother really annoys Elizabeth. However bad this may be for Elizabeth, the proposal scene is quite comical for the reader. Collins is just so ridiculous that we have to laugh. Harding calls collins a "comic monster".

Next Essay
In my next essay I really need to focus on avoiding plot summary and instead advancing my arguments. Also, I need to improve my closing sentences for my body paragraphs. They need to be more effective in proving my point. Last but not least I need to make my conclusion more lively and less plot orientated. It needs to sum up my ideas and opinions and not the story.
